Stand Out From the Rest

You need to stand out in today’s competitive market to land that skating gig. There are a lot of skaters with the same skill level and background all competing for the same spot. So how can you “market” yourself to get noticed among all the others?

I have made a very successful career in entertaining producers and audiences.  It was unheard of to make it on to Champions On Ice for an extended period of time with anything less than a National gold medal or being on an Olympic team.  I knew that the tour needed a good comedian and demonstrated my Cartman/Doubtfire to Tom Collins in 1999.  I joined as a full cast member in 2000.  I could always entertain an audience, but to get Tom’s approval was another.  I found a talent of being able to put together:

  • good music for a program
  • define and showcase my strengths
  • know how to present everything in a manner leaving the audience wanting more
