Sun Valley 2011 first two shows

It seems like only a few weeks ago that we had skated our last show of 2010. We now have two shows under our belt with the guest skaters of Mirai Nagasu, Nathan Chen, and Alissa Czisny. This year is the 75th anniversary where they are having us skaters do our older, popular routines. They invested in a big screen at the front of the "curtain" that projects some cool stuff, most of which we don't see since we are busy skating!  (the picture was taken during a rehearsal which is why nothing is projected.  The screen is behind my "prop" box.)

The first number is "It Happened in Sun Valley" which is a fun routine.  I skate once around the rink with two killian rotations, and then get off for a quick change.  Then the kids come out to skate to the same song but performed by South Park characters, which of course I follow as Cartman/Doubtfire.  The middle group number, choreographed by Gia Guddat, was an old favorite that I never performed before.  I will hopefully get someone to tape it because if we are all on, it rocks!  It is an on ice version of Riverdance.

Besides skating in the show I enjoy hanging out at coffee club.  For the next two weeks we have Evan Lysacek along with the local competition, collegiates, and the John Nick's seminar.  Be well!
