Popeye Vs Brutus for the love of Olive Oyl!
I have wanted to create a Popeye routine for quite some time now. Two years ago, I put together a solo version of Popeye for Mike Weiss’ show, but it just didn’t feel right.
The Best of Sun Valley
I had an idea a few years ago to do the “Best of COI” as directed by Tom Collins. His voice would challenge me to be as good as the other skaters. When he named a skater, I would imitate them to the best of my ability.
Santa is Trained by Dan Hollander
I have been "training" Santa at the Gallery Mall in Texas since 2000! I decided to put together a fun video showing Santa getting back into shape to perform. For some reason little kids love watching this video!
Super Stars on Ice, May 18th show…skating with Scott Hamilton
Where do I even begin? What an amazing day. I’ll just give a brief explanation of what happened and let the videos speak for themselves.
So You Think You Can Dance
So in wracking my brain to come up with a second routine for Sun Valley this year, Marcia told me I had to do a Beyonce routine based on the SNL skit with Justin Timberlake.
Shot Gun Wedding
This year Sun Valley decided on a western theme. I have always loved the song “Dearly Beloved” by Faith Hill. It is all about this shot gun wedding in which everyone is flirting with everyone else, with the main part being, “They’ll be together forever till they find somebody new.” It just cracks me up.
I'm Yours & Dancing
I heard this GREAT song “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz. I couldn’t stop listen to it, knowing that I would eventually skate to it (just like Heaven is a Half Pipe for “Angel”).
Super Hero
I have been working on this routine for close to five years! I knew that I wanted to figure out a way to have muscles that can pump up, like using a bicycle pump or something.
Dan's Gold
I feel this is my most creative story line routine to date. I was at the NJS (now simply called IJS) seminar and decided to do a routine that would spoof our sport.
Richard Simmons
So the previous year was a bit of a cop out for a fresh routine by copying Doubtfire. This year I really wanted to come up with something good. Years back I heard Craig Heath, a very talented skated, talking about doing a Richard Simmons number. Well, it was years later, and I knew my version would be completely different.
The Old Man
I totally ripped this off, and I am happy to admit it. Not wanting to be forced to do Doubtfire again on COI (I felt the audience still deserved something new), I started to think,
Bugs/Elmer
I always liked the Barber of Seville and used it for short program. I was mad that I had all these great ideas for 2 people and no pair or dance team seemed willing to try any of my ideas.
Mrs. Doubtfire
This is by far my most popular routine. I knew as soon as Doubtfire hit the theaters, watching the cleaning scene, that I wanted to put that on the ice.
Tappin' With Bob
went to a Tap Dogs show ready to find a way to put this cool show on the ice. There was this one part when one guy would tap out a rhythm and the other guy would follow it.
The Janitor
Finally I hit my big break placing 3rd in the U.S. Tom Collins invited me to skate on his tour, the same tour that I saw Scott Hamilton when I was 5.
