Same Old, Same Old

I know, I know, I have been having way too much fun here and not keeping up on my updates. So I’m continuing with Tappin’ with Bob and Doubtfire. I figure why bother working to get the Bugs up to snuff when I have the feeling they will just request to go back to Tappin’ again.

I have been pretty pumped to meet up with Rich at Anderson and go wakeboarding...not to mention the hour and half drive on the Harley each way! So this guy comes on the boat who works at the store and bring a ton of wakeboards that are demos. After using mine, he convinces me to use his fancy smancy thousand dollar one. Well, sure its like, and oh baby does it twitch! So sure enough my skill level isn’t that good, it turns, plant the edge, WHAM, nice face plant. J.J. who is in the labor day weekend blast video wanted this on the website.

So first I feel like I can’t get the water out of my left ear. Then I try to blow plug my nose and blow, which creates this whistling out my ear!

So sure enough, I have a small hole in my tympanic membrane (ear drum) that should heel up, but if not, they’ll do whatever surgery. It doesn’t hurt, nor does it effect my balance. I just don’t hear as well. So the Dr. said I can’t get it wet. Well, remember when you were a kid and they had those balls of wax that you put in your ear, well they still make them! So armed with ear wax, I’m off and jumping on the wakeboard. Cory, the rink manager came and ROCKED! He taught me a lot and even got me jumping pretty decent over the wake.

So what else is new and exciting? Well, at the beginning of the pro sessions I started to do an edge class with Craig Heath...which lead to more and more skaters joining in. We all take turns doing a drill, staying in formation, working the edges down the ice. I can’t tell you how nice it is to skate with all these talented skaters really enjoying the art of skating, which most of the younger skaters have difficulty doing. Most of us have a figure background, so its second nature to us. Lisa Marie Allen has taken a bit of lead to run the class which is nice. In any case, that should do it for now, hope you are well....

Be well,

Dan
