Private Banker Show and July 4th
So before you know it, opening day has arrived. I skated the first show, and as always things are a bit rough and need to come together. You can see the two numbers on the “Video Demo” page under I’m Yours and Dancing. So the first show came and went, skated pretty well the second number...however the powers that be wanted more of my slap stick outrageous comedy...and has requested Tappin’ with Bob and Doubtfire. All I can think of is the scene in Wedding Crashers when the little kids says, “just shut up and make me a bike funny man!” So tonight, the 4th of July, the first real show (not a private one) we have our guest skaters Kurt Browning and Racheal Flatt. I love skating with Kurt, he is soooo smooth. Above you will see a still shot of Kurt and Joseph Sabovchek doing the classic pose of Boitano and Hamilton who did that years ago. So....I start off with the original plan of I’m Yours since Doubtfire needs to be shipped out to me. I made a few changes as suggested by Marci (dance closer to the girls) and added the doggie biting me for the 3rd girl. I think it is a fun number, but not the outrageous slap stick...so oh well. I even had a 3 different groups of people comment on how much they like the number and the song! I will do it tomorrow and then that should be that for the summer. So then the second number was Tappin’ with Bob, but of course done as the bum, which at least tied the numbers together. So just not caring, or I should say worrying about the jumps, sure enough I skated clean which is pretty darn cool. I think I’ll put both these numbers of this show at the bottom of this blog. Private show with how the numbers came to be and an explanation is on the “Video Demo” page.
I was pretty pumped that Kurt really liked my second number and complimented me to the audience too in his interview to the audience. I laughed when he said he felt wobbly, because his wobbly is my smooth! The man is awesome and I really respect his work. Will keep you all posted...
