NOTE: Many skaters had their skates hollow sharpened at 5/8th…which is very shallow and on the start end of a figure hollow. If you decide that you would like a sharper hollow please leave a note with your skate.
9/16th is generally for freestyle with a quick change from edge to edge.
1/2” is standard for most skating.
7/16th is a bit deeper hollow which I generally have synchronized skaters and dancers.
Anything sharper than that is a skater’s preference.
